Stuart Thorn, President and Chairman of Electrone, has been involved with the business since its inception in 1984.

Until 1988 Stuart was a founder director of boutique merchant and investment banking group Guidehouse. The company was active in management buy-outs,
M&A and investment trusts. Clients included Hornby Hobbies, Bow Valley Resources, and Sage Accounting Software.

For eighteen months Stuart was chairman of Newgate Trust Plc. The company was active in investment and gas production and recorded its first profit in several years during his period of management.

Stuart has also served as a non-executive Chairman of Acrastyle Ltd, a private UK manufacturing company making control and protection equipment for the electrical power supply industry. During the 1990’s Stuart was a founding director of Tokenhouse Yard Holdings, a public Canadian oil and gas development company. Since 1996 he has been primarily involved with Electrone and has focused the business on product development and innovation.
